Hebrews 4:12 (NKJV)
"For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."
This is the Sword of Truth, and it is not what most people picture.
The Word of God is LIVING. Not ink. Not history. Alive and powerful RIGHT NOW — and its sharpest work is not cutting down enemies. It's SURGERY. It pierces to the division of soul and spirit: the exact seam where what is truly of God separates from emotion, habit, fear, and other people's voices wearing a God costume.
And it is a DISCERNER of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Not just what a person thinks — WHY they think it. The intent underneath the intent. (Yes, including yours. Especially yours. That's the point.)
This is why discernment is not a vibe, and it is not suspicion. It is letting the living Word do the dividing, so you stop fighting people and start seeing clearly: what is spirit, what is soul, and what is a counterfeit riding in on both.
