Indeed.
Read it again — slowly. He HAS rescued us. Past tense. Not "will rescue, someday." Already done.
And notice what the verse actually describes. Not just an escape — a TRANSFER. Out of the dominion of darkness, and into a KINGDOM. Kingdoms have rulers. Dominions change hands.
People read "the Son" and picture Jesus, two thousand years ago, and file the whole thing away as history. It is not history. It is happening NOW. The dominion of darkness is being lifted and the kingdom is being established in real time, in our time.
And the one standing up to rule it? The Word already told us his name: "At that time Michael shall stand up..." (Daniel 12:1)
